Markian is an award-winning portrait photographer based in Toronto, Canada. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, Stern, EW, GQ, Fortune, Men’s Health, Sportsnet, Report on Business, Canadian Business and Toronto Life Magazine, among other publications.
He received a BFA in Photographic Arts from The Alberta College of Art and Design in 2002. His love of portraiture stems from the five years he spent traveling the world while assisting renowned photographer Martin Schoeller. He counts his encounters with hunter-gatherer tribes of East Africa and the Amazon as once in a lifetime highlights.
When not on assignment, collaborating, or teaching, Markian relishes spending time with his son.
