Theo Stroomer (“Tay-oh”) photographs American culture. Known for his boundless enthusiasm and unorthodox approaches to contemporary subject matter, his work combines research with long-form documentary journalism to explore history, symbols, and communities as they evolve.
His photography has been recognized by American Photography, Magenta’s Flash Forward, CENTER’s Review Santa Fe, and Photolucida’s Critical Mass. He has been awarded grants from TheDocumentaryProjectFund, The Puffin Foundation, and The Luminous Endowment.
Stroomer’s work has appeared in National Geographic, TIME, The New York Times, Fortune, CNN, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Popular Mechanics, WIRED, and more. He lives in Denver.
