Join us for the launch party of Q. Sakamaki’s new book Tompkins Square Park at the powerHouse Arena in Brooklyn on Wednesday August 6th, 6:30 - 9:00. The book focuses on the anti-gentrification movement in the late 80’s and early 90’s in Manhattan’s East Village.

James Whithlow Delano’s photographs are featured in a new book I Viaggi di Tiziano Terzani, which features 180 photographs from 19 countries. The Monograph book is a collaboration between family and friends of Tiziano Terzani: Angela Terzani Staube, Folco Terzani, Grazia Neri, Renzo Guidieri; and the photographer.

Congratulations to Lou Dematteis on the publication of his book Crude Reflections: Oil, Ruin and Resistance in the Amazon Rainforest (City Lights Publishers).  This work can also be found on the Redux Pictures Archive.

The powerhouse arena will host an opening reception both celebrating the release of Christopher Lamarca’s new book “Forest Defenders: The Confrontational American Landscape”, as well as the opening of a new exhibit coinciding with Earth Day, Shifting Landscapes, featuring work by Lamarca and Joshua Lutz, as well as Olaf Otto Becker, Edward Burtynsky, David Maisel, and Simon Norfolk.
